Chocolate Pink is looking for a stellar cake artisan to provide wonderful looking custom and wedding cakes for our customers. Qualified candidates will be reliable, punctual, enthusiastic, efficient, friendly, organized, detail-oriented, conscientious, considerate and compassionate.
This position requires creativity and artistic ability working with buttercream, fondant, sugar, and chocolate.
This is a part time position; Hours and shifts may vary.
CAKE ARTISAN ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Decorating cakes as required, including mixing colors and working with fondant, chocolate and sugar.
• Following design guidelines as indicated, including Chocolate Pink style standards.
• Take orders, confirm details, make deliveries.
• Maintain order and cleanliness of work environment.
• Stock supplies and products.
• Keep accurate records: inventory lists, special orders, custom orders, wedding orders, money transactions, etc.
APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS
• Apply creative ability with color identification to achieve desired results.
• Mix icings and pastry creams to be used with custom cakes.
• Cut, ice and stack cakes to meet the design requirements.
• Must have knowledge of basic math to create colors with buttercream, fondant and chocolate.
• Must be able to learn taste, content and perishability of products
• Must possess the following skills: hand-painting, freehand cutting, airbrushing, piping and writing.
• Operate commercial bakery machinery in a safe manner.
• Maintain proper ServSafe regulations for product freshness, sanitation and rotation.
• Training other associates as needed.
• Comply with standards for code of conduct.
• Practice rules of good service.
• Complete opening and closing duties.
• Complete cleaning duties.
• Take accurate inventory: boxes, stickers, poly bags, products, ingredients, cake decorating supplies.
• Keep accurate orders, specials orders, custom, wedding, etc.
• Follow through with processes including necessary communications.
• Liaise with cafe staff and company associates as necessary.
