BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR, with Commercial Cleaning Background

Role Description
Working as part of the Business Development team, this role is responsible for sourcing and managing relationships with new and existing clients and key decision makers within the region to develop business opportunities, achieve predetermined sales targets and ensuring complete customer satisfaction. Extensive travel. With office based in Orlando.


Key Responsibilities
Business Development
• Generating leads and setting appointments through market investigation and cold calling
• Developing and managing business relationships that generate new income and achieving agreed sales targets
• Presenting the organization and the services it provides to potential customers directly and at industry events
• Creating and managing a pipeline required to meet sales targets and ensuring all sales administration is current
• Being accountable for all client proposals, contracts and any further documentation
• Working with the Estimation and Bid Managers to respond to RFP’s and tender requests in a timely manner
• Responding to allocated sections of bids
• Developing a thorough understanding of clients objectives including their Return On Investment (ROI) objectives
• Ensuring that proposals are commercially developed in-line with client’s ROI objectives
• Closing sales opportunities and working with the Estimation and Commercial Managers to negotiation of terms and conditions of services contracts with clients
• Maintaining a proactive relationship with all prospective clients in the pipeline
• Ensuring potential clients are in keeping with the organisation’s business objectives.

Management Reporting
• Regularly communicating with the State Manager, Business Development General Manager, and all other business development personnel to ensure that they remain fully informed of all significant issues
• Regularly reporting pipeline status, actual performance to budget, variance analyses and revised projections
• Preparing and submitting monthly management reports
• Ensuring all other reporting requests are met.

Market Knowledge
• Developing and maintaining a thorough knowledge and understanding of the market sectors the organization operates in
• Understanding the objectives, buying criteria and decision making processes of the organization’s clients
• Coordinating and gathering market intelligence and monitoring competitors’ sales strategies and products, campaigns and events to optimize market share.

Compliance
• Ensuring that this role meets all statutory and legislative requirements, in particular the fair trading requirements, and operating in line with the organization’s standard work procedures.
