Santa Claus is really busy this time of year- too busy to answer all the mail he's gotten from kids all over the country, so he has asked SafeRide America for help. And SafeRide is recruiting volunteers to help with the operation. Community service hours will be awarded.

We are creating personalized 'Letters from Santa' as a fundraiser. Each letter will be personalized with the recipient's name, city, age, friends' and/or family's names, a present they are asking for and a personalized message from the sender. All the letters will be handsigned by Santa (aka our volunteers) and each envelope will be hand addressed. All letters will be postmarked from North Pole, Alaska, so the recipient will know it really is from Santa! There are many for-profit companies participating in similar campaigns, but SafeRide is the only charity doing this on a national level and the only one with handwritten addresses.

Should you choose to accept this mission, here is what you'll be doing: Remember when Girl Scouts sold cookies? Know that lady in your office who seems to always be selling something for her kid's baseball team or school? That's basically what we need help with during the holiday season. When you respond to this listing, we will send you 2 pdf's: one sales sheet and one time sheet as well as instructions and suggestions for quick, easy sales. Talk to your friends, family, coworkers, neighbors and even strangers and you can earn your community service hours fast.

Kids will love to receive a personalized letter, but these letters are a perfect gift for everyone! Wouldn't you love to see your boss's face when he receives a letter from Santa asking him to be extra nice to his employees to ensure delivery of his present? Maybe you would like to send your siblings a letter, reminding them of a simpler time? How about sending one to your spouse- make it naughty or nice, your choice. Should you want to make a lasting impression on a client, how better than sending them a letter from Santa, mentioning your business in it?

While this is our first trial with a Santa Letter campaign, we have years of experience in fundraising and we expect to volunteers average 2 letters per hour. But these letters, coupled with the fact that proceeds benefit charity, will sell themselves. If you try, you will succeed. But if you never try, you'll never know.
