Tired of calling places to volunteer to serve your community service hours only never to hear back from them? Or maybe they don't have work that fits your schedule? It can be very difficult to find somewhere to volunteer in Georgia. Especially if the hours are court appointed. In Georgia, if you have court appointed community service hours to complete, did you know you cannot work directly with children, the handicapped or the elderly?
The National Council for the Prevention of Impaired Driving (NCPID) is a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit public service agency headquartered in Atlanta serving the needs of impaired drivers. Our goal is to provide the public with the necessary tools to safely handle the impaired driving issues we all face. To accomplish this goal we created the SafeRide™ America Program, a year round program dedicated to driving impaired individuals and their cars home safely.
Here's a breakdown of what you'll be doing. When you arrive at our office, you'll be partnered up with a SafeRide employee. You will drive the employee in your car to a location we have been called to. You drop off the employee, the employee drives the client home and you follow along. Then you pick up the employee and go on to the next requested location. It's that easy. You will be reimbursed for your gas at $5 per trip.
