If you've been worried how you were going to serve 100's of hours of community service, this may be your lucky day.
SafeRide America is seeking a volunteer to help with scheduling other volunteers.
Here's a breakdown of how this program works: You pick the hours and days of the week that work best for you. For example, if you work during the day, you can choose 7pm to 10pm. We will forward our volunteer hotline number to your phone. You will be responsible for answering the phone and explaining our service to potential volunteers and putting them on our schedule. You will also call all volunteer applicants and invite them to volunteer with us- this can be done anytime, as long as they are contact within 24 hours. There is no cold calling- everyone you speak with has contacted us for information on how they can help with our mission.
You need to be responsible, dedicated and well-spoken. You must be available at least 5 days per week, preferably consecutive days. We need someone who can answer the phone at least 3 hours per day, but you can work more if your schedule allows for it. You must have a phone (cell phones are fine, but you will use a lot of minutes), a computer and an internet connection. If you do not have at least 100 hours to serve, it probably won't be a good fit- we need someone who can fill this position for at least a month. The more volunteers you schedule, the more hours you will earn.
We will train you (it's really pretty easy and can be completed in an afternoon) and will provide any assistance as needed- we are only a phone call away. We will do all the marketing and recruiting, all you have to do is answer the calls, call prospective volunteers and place them on our schedule (which is internet based).
We currently have a volunteer filling this position. He loves that he can earn his hours at home, on his own schedule. He will be done with his hours in early December and that is when this position will begin.
