Easter Sunday – April 4
We will leave on Easter Sunday at 4pm. We will take the 5 hour ride down to Biloxi on our luxury motorcoach where we will enjoy movies, games and complimentary beverages. We will arrive in Biloxi around 8pm, where you will check-in into your luxury room and enjoy the lights and flair of the Grand Casino on a Sunday evening. We will wind down Sunday evening with a dip in the pool or hot tub.
Monday- April 5
Monday morning will begin with a morning breakfast buffet as we prepare to take the 90 minute ride down to New Orleans for the day. While in New Orleans, you will be greeted by a New Orleans native, who will take us on a tour of it’s fabulous city. You will also enjoy an authentic Cajun cooking class by former NFL player Kevin Belton. After the cooking class you will enjoy 4 hours of free time in New Orleans to maybe ride the trolley, hit Bourbon Street, stroll the French Market or cruise the Great Mississippi River. Children ages 3 and above are required to be in uniform daily and are on the High Reach Curriculum. Children ages 4 and over are on the Passport Curriculum by High Reach. Teachers of students ages 3 and above have education degrees or are in school fulfilling their degrees. This is a structured educational environment where children are encouraged to grow. This concert/production will be part of the services of the church, but just like every other day "all persons are welcome" for worship there!
I have heard this performed in the past and it's very moving, but having it at this church will certainly have it be even more so. A great way for all of us to be together and to experience the holiday in music and song.

I would like to put together a think tank similar to Freeside Atlanta (or Rand Corporation with an altruistic bent, if you would) that would give people of African descent, with intellectual talents, a platform to use their gifts – and maybe even help our community.
I have looked around and I have not found an organization like this for people like us. There is a strong sentiment that people like us do not exist. Yet, I meet people like this constantly, however; I have come to find that some of the best and brightest I know are not using their gifts (working in jobs that do not require brainpower), have been hampered in their development, or society no longer considers them a valid citizen (many have served time).
I want to create a series of projects that can bring a positive impact to our neighborhoods. We cannot sit back and wait for the tide to change for us. Many of us are well aware of our miseducation (Read Carter Woodson’s “Miseducation of the Negro” if you haven’t already).
We need creative thinking in every category. We need edgy marketing, we need programming know-how, we need those who are skilled at building, we need those who understand advanced mathematics, but we mostly need those who hunger to be part of something bigger than ourselves.
Many people threw their faith into politics and thought that Barack Obama was going to be part of the answer; I hope that those who felt that way have come to realize that the answer will come from a collective of brainpower and maximum execution, not a nice logo and a catch campaign slogan.
We have become so accustomed to noise and flash that many do not realize that the elevation cannot be seen, in truth, it should not even be noticed. The elevation we should seek is a quiet, steady elevation that allows us to use the resources we actually have, the ideas we have been pondering and the potential to create REAL CHANGE a reality.
Let us get together, sit down and talk, bond and build amongst each other.
