We are a new Assisted Living facility located in the Atlanta area. We are seeking one, unique and dynamic individual to lead our Activities and Volunteer Program.
Our Activities and Volunteer Director is an integral part of our resident services program, who assists our residents in meeting their spiritual, physical, mental and emotional needs daily.

The Activities and Volunteer Director creates programs and encourages participation in activities which are age-appropriate and sensitive to the needs of the residents. The overall goal of the Activities and Volunteer Director is to provide a warm, friendly and stimulating environment for each resident.
Duties include but are not limited to the following:
1. Plan and implement resident activities according to resident needs. Produce creative and exciting monthly activities calendar and newsletter (Must have keen graphic, design, layout and computer skills).
2. Coordinates resident transportation, including but not limited to doctor trips, shopping and out-of-building activities. Schedule transportation. Coordinate vehicle maintenance.
3. Assess resident activities monthly and adapt program as appropriate.
4. Listen and respond to all resident problems, complaints, suggestions and ideas regarding activities. Resolve problems in a timely and effective manner.
5. Coordinate use of all volunteers.
6. Serve as Director on Duty as assigned.
7. Document community history with photographs and scrapbooks.
8. Operate activities within budget.
9. Perform all other duties as assigned by management.
10. Operate an engaging and thriving Arts and craft program.
11. Willing and able to market and network with area churches, schools, nursing homes and other businesses which work with Seniors.
Requirements:
Ideal candidate will have a college degree with emphasis in gerontological studies/recreation programs or 2 years experience in a similar capacity. Extensive experience with MSOffice, MSWord and MSExcel and Publisher. Must be CPR and First Aid Certified or be able to become within 60 days of employment. Must hold current clean Driver’s License. Must be able to read, write and speak the English language. Must be able to communicate effectively with residents, families and other staff members. Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
