It was the child's mother's boyfriend's snake. They had it in a glass terrarium downstairs in the home. The snake broke out of the glass, slithered silently upstairs during the night and strangled the child. It also bit her head.
In the morning, the boyfriend stabbed the snake to get it off the child, but it was too late.
The snake survived, was treated for its wounds and has since gone to a rescue organization.
Spike has been in our family for six years. We are looking for a good home for him because we are moving. He is a great family pet. He requires very little attention and is well kept and healthy. A rehoming fee required. There are not many unique pets like Spike. He comes with a custom bult wood cage on wheels with his heating lamps.
To answer your opinion about my feelings on the breed being changed if someone I knew or loved got attacked by this breed....Nope, sorry. That might sound cold hearted, but I know personally it isnt the breed. It is the owners who are the ones at fault. They are the ones who should be locked up in a gas chamber and gased, or strapped to a table and lethally injected. I own 6 APBTs EVERYONE ONE OF THEM IS CGC CERTIFIED. EVERY WEEKEND WE ATTEND CHILDREN HOSPITALS AND NURSING HOMES. We are GREATLY appreciated. My dogs are making an impact on this messed up society and people might not like it, but tough.
Also, you comment about Pit Bulls holding the strongest or hardest bite....wrong again. In fact, Rottweilers bite harder then any other breed of dog. Look it up on Youtube. Its under the title Bite Force. It goes into full depth about this myth. You can even google which breed of dog bites harder...not the pit bull. STOP CONFORMING PEOPLE. You dont know chit until you have experienced it yourself. NOBODY will EVER make me rid of my dogs, thats a decision I am capable of making on my own as an American. Congratulations, you've accomplished nothing.
One more thing, If they are soo bad...dont you think that in 14 years with the breed...i would have confronted an aggressive Pit Bull at one time or another? Being as I attend all Pit Bull gathering, all shows and even elect to foster needy Pit Bulls. I ave a 6 month old son, my dogs adore him. I trust these dogs with my own life around my son. You may think im stupid and thats OK because everyone has an opinion, we are all entitled to that right. They love my son, they love other animals, there is NO aggression in them at all, and I dont believe that they would turn on myself or my family EVER.
I am soo aorry to hear about your friend/family member, but perhaps you should have confronted the owner on improper animal care and neglegence. The dog should never have escaped inthe first place. Thanks.
