I do not wish to start a dispute about pitbulls, because I LOVE THEM, have one of my own & hes a complete big BABY... but since Rambo's owner did NOT say in her ad, I must let you know a few things about him. Last year I had to return him to her a few months after adopting him. We had already fallen deeply in love with this dog but had to get rid of him ASAP. He IS a good loving dog BUT you must know before adopting, that he is VERY food/toy aggressive towards other animals. She also failed to mention that he was a rescue dog & is very skittish & can't gain anymore weight that how much he weighs now. I attached a couple pictures of him while he was in my home to prove he WAS mine, one with him & my cat laying together on my bed.... & I have also attached a picture of my cat a few days after Rambo tore into his face. He did this because the cat walked NEAR his bowl while he was eating. This picture was taken AFTER a few days of healing, vet care & medication, my cats eye was pretty much hanging out of his head after Rambo got a hold of him. I thought he was going to either die or lose his eye, luckily the vet was able to fix it. I have a little girl & all I saw in my head was him doing this to her one day & I was NOT going to let that happen, so I gave him back to her a few days later, he stayed outside until she came & got him. I had NO feelings left for him after I watched him hurt my cat, this dog that me & my husband had fallen so in love with, all positive emotions... GONE in an instant. My cat almost lost his eye... SO I thought it MIGHT just be necessary to let people know that he HAS been aggressive in the past instead of just NOT saying any thing about it. WHY? Because I don't want this to happen to anyone elses pets OR children some day in the future if they adopt him unaware of his past. Rambo also attacked EVERY puppy I have ever had in my home, friends puppies & rescued puppies that I temporarily had.... because they walked near either one of his toys OR his food, so this was NOT just a one time thing. He always went for the head & did damage each & every time. When I gave him back to her, she said she was going to keep him... She had him back on CL a WEEK later, then took him off for awhile, then today I see him again... Other than this yes, Rambo is a fantastic loving boy, I just know he would do great as the ONLY pet. I just really thought that people interested in him had the RIGHT to know what he has done, because I KNOW she would NOT mention this to you before letting you bring him into your home. She obviously doesn't care about the well being of other families, just her own. I DO hope that there is some one out there that has the right environment & home to house Rambo, the poor boy has had it rough, has been in & out of MANY homes & deserves a loving home that wants him around. Searching for the right petsitter? Need overnight care for your dog? ASK ME about my boarding service! I am an animal LOVER, OWNER and CAREGIVER ( for 6 years ) located in the Roswell/ Alpharetta area, offering my service of boarding for dogs in a LOVING FAMILY HOME ...... NOT A KENNEL FACILITY. Boarding with me is a great alternative to placing them in a cramped and impersonal kennel where they are in a cage most of the day. Your doggies with me will not cause the anxiety that kennels create nor any aggression from being placed in cages. I ONLY crate a dog if owner requests so.
I have a BIG FENCED WOODED BACK YARD for outdoor playtime. Dogs have CONSTANT access in and out. I also live in a quiet, nice neighborhood where leash walking is great for extra activity. No need to bring extra supplies with the exception of dog's own food ( if you need to keep them on their own diet). Boarding dogs do have to be current on shots.

Samson's dad brought him to the shelter earlier in the week and stated that he would like to surrender his dog. When asked why, he stated that Samson had fleas his wife said that Samson could not live with them any longer. We explained to him that if he left Samson at the shelter, we could not guarantee that Samson would find a new home. We asked if they would be able to keep Sampson if he was able to solve the flea problem. He said he would like to try. We gave him a complimentary dose of Frontline, instructions on how to apply and spoke to him about how they could get their home and yard treated for fleas. The man seemed grateful of the information and he left with Samson.
Yesterday, Samson's mom (if you can call her that) came into the shelter with Samson. She stated that she did not want him and she did not care if he was euthanize. When asked if they used the complimentary Frontline, she stated that they did not. It was explained to her that we have limited resources to help the animals living at the shelter and that we would appreciate if she could return it to us. She refused and stated that she never asked for it to begin with.
When she left Samson with us he was not sad to see her leave. In fact he was very happy to hang out with us because were were giving him love and affection. He stayed at the front desk for several hours and enjoyed all of the petting and attention that he was getting. We felt very bad when Samson had to go out into the stray ward and into a cage with other dogs. Once he was in his kennel he stared back at us with big scared eyes. This morning he was looking a little happier and was wagging his tail when anyone walked by his kennel.
Samson is a large, black, mixed breed dog. Those guys tend to stay at the shelter the longest before being adopted or rescued. Please do not let Samson stay at the shelter for long. This sweet boy will make some luck person or family a super pet. Please contact me ASAP if you would like to help Samson.
