I keep hearing people talk about bringing Hollywood closer to Atlanta or that Atlanta is to be the next Black Hollywood, which to me sounds ignorant and demeaning, acknowledging the fact that not only “Black” people live or watch movies in Atlanta . And NO, Hollywood is NEVER moving any closer to Atlanta. Let us “THINK” together. What we refer to as “Hollywood” is actually thousands of corporations controlled by the children of a handful of people with offices or representation all around the world but loyal to regulations and deals made in or around LA. These people have made personal investments in their industry and have no reason to move to Atlanta since they can control Atlanta among other places remotely, as they already do. They will continue to empower “A FEW OF US” to enslave “THE REST OF US’ and make billions of dollars while saving on their taxes.
By following their blueprint for Atlanta, Atlanta will never have a “REAL” movie industry. It will continue to be like gambling, where while the odds are always against you, the promoter (Hollywood studio) and the venue (government) still gets paid.
Should we let “them” give us a name “AGAIN” to control us and amount to nothing or can we collectively support and promote LANTAWOOD, a name we understand to mean something to Atlanta and all of us? A name that can make us collectively wealthy. With our individual strengths.
People stop me to ask “what is Lantawood, is it a casting company, a distribution company, a production company, or is it a magazine, and I tell them, “Lantawood is the final piece of the puzzle for Atlanta to have a real movie industry. We have the system to shock the world. All we need is you!”
This morning, I search the phrase atlanta movie industry on Google, the worlds most powerful search engine, and to my surprise Lantawood appeared in lines number 2,4,5,8 (four links to Lantawood on Google’s first page) I then searched for movie opportunities in atlanta, Lantawood came up on lines 3,4,5,8. At this point I asked myself, if the world has found out about Lantawood, then when will CNN start talking about the thousands of jobs we Lantawood can help create right here in our communities? When?
