Eigth Airforce hanky-1943 sent to my grandmother from her son, my dad, from England. He was a B-17 pilot who made 35 missions in WW2 in the European theater. Recently matted and framed. To my knowledge that there were several color combinations of the hankies that were available to the pilots to send back to their loved ones. He came back to the states to become an instructor in pilot training until he got out of the Army and married my mom. I came alone in 12-1945.
The money from the sale of this is going to the necessary cost of burial next to my mom in Atlanta. My dad died 39 years ago and is buried alone in a US Naval cemetery in Pensacola. The money will go to my burial.
