Job Description:
The Media Correspondent will research, report, write, and occasionally broadcast stories for our publication. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being in the field, attending events, interviewing sources, and staying on top of breaking news in the community.
Responsibilities:
Research and gather information on news, entertainment, and community events
Write clear, accurate, and compelling articles for web and print
Conduct interviews with event organizers, public figures, and community members
Attend press conferences, red carpet events, festivals, and other assignments
Capture photos or short video clips when needed for accompanying coverage
Collaborate with editors to pitch story ideas and meet editorial deadlines
Stay informed on trending topics, local issues, and entertainment news
Occasionally appear on camera or record short segments for digital platforms (if applicable)
Requirements:
Strong writing, interviewing, and communication skills
Ability to research thoroughly and fact-check all information
Comfortable attending and covering live events
Ability to meet deadlines and work independently
Familiarity with social media and digital content creation
Previous journalism, media, or communications experience preferred
Photography or video skills a plus, but not required
