The Native Instruments Maschine Jam is a grid-based hardware controller for the Maschine software, featuring an 8x8 pad matrix and eight touch-sensitive Smart Strips for creating patterns, sequencing melodies, arranging songs, and controlling effects in real-time, focusing heavily on workflow and performance with its unique touch-strip-based input for strumming notes and performing FX. While praised for its intuitive workflow, especially for arrangement and live performance, it was discontinued by NI but remains popular for its unique capabilities, particularly when paired with other Maschine hardware.
