How many Sear's legacies can you count?
Who remembers the big 2000 catalog. How about the package house you could order delivered to your site by Sears. Craftsman tools? Kenmore appliances? Then you and hte brother-in-law could spend a year and a half nailing it together, after work, weekends.

How about Allstate Insurance? And then there was little Greenwood Trust Co. in Greenwood, Delaware that became Discover Card. Western Auto stores?. NTB for tires and batteries. Most of which got sold off to stave off the first bankruptcy. Now they have KMart. Like the vice presidency: aint worth a warm bucket of spit.

But in every major American city there's a Sear warehouse from which mail orders were fulfilled and stores supplied. Can you say "Ponce City Market?"

Didn't/Doesn't Sears own WLS broadcasting in Chicago? "World's Largest Store." here and there though out the US there are beautiful Art Deco retail stores repurposed. Much like the old Coke plants that spot America and the few remaining downtown JJ Kress stores that survive. But those Sears Warehouses are massive covering acres if not square miles. Sears was really something in its century.

I've heard no one compliment Amazon for its architectural contribution to our culture. Take that , Jeff Bezos!!
