1985 Schwinn World Sport. It has new cables, new cable housings, new brake pads, and new internal bearings. The bike has a lightweight 4130 chromoly double-butted steel frame. It shifts gears, brakes, and rides very smooth.
The frame measures 19 1/2" from the center of the crank to the top of the top tube. This would've been the small size frame for this model. A rider around 5'0 to 5'6 should fit.
This is a 1985 lugged-frame road bike made by Giant in Taiwan for Schwinn and then imported to the USA. The bike has Suntour AR front and rear derailleurs plus Suntour shifters located on the handlebar stem. It has Dia-Compe brakes. The drivetrain is a Suntour 6-speed freewheel and a Sakae double front crankset(52-40) . It has lightweight alloy rims and 27" Kenda tires.
The bike was completely disassembled. All the components and the drivetrain were removed, deep-cleaned, and adjusted. The fork was removed and the headset bearings were replaced, greased, and the headset was adjusted. The wheelhub bearings were all replaced, greased and adjusted. The internal cups and cones where the bearings travel were all deep-cleaned to provide the cleanest and smoothest surface possible. The wheels were trued, the rims and spokes were individually cleaned. The bottom bracket was disassembled and cleaned of all the grit and grime that accumulates inside there, then rebuilt with new bearings and grease. The frame was cleaned and polished. The brake calipers and levers, shifters, derailleurs, cranks, chainrings, and drivetrain were all disassembled and rebuilt. There's not a nut or bolt on the bike I haven't touched.
I have left the handlebars bare so that you can customize it with whatever color bartape you like. I have some colors of tape for sale. Let me know if you want me to bring these along when we meet up. I can install the bartape while we meet if you need.
This a very pretty bike in wonderful condition with barely any scuffs or scratches.

Old grease, combined with dirt, will harden and damage the operation of the bearings. This will cause internal damage, and can make your bike dangerous(especially with the headset bearings which allow you to steer). If you're looking to buy any used bike, find out when the last time the bearings were overhauled (not a "tune-up"). If it has not been done in 5 yrs, I strongly recommend having it done.
