We're a 4-piece community of musicians seeking a 5th. There's around 20 established tunes for which we'd like to keep the bass feel for somewhat, and there's an endless number of originals potential (no, seriously- lots of song ideas!). Working on tabbing/notations for that for those who read better than they work by ear. We're age range 30's-50's, all of us are in good shape, and we're all solid at our instruments. Rock concept is Love & Death, and we're more eclectic than goth or metal.
The music is fairly bass-forward, and the melodic lines are integral to more than a few of the tracks. We'd like someone who likes sitting in that spot a bit, and there's opportunity a plenty to show skills without falling off the ledge into all-improv. jazz fusion. In essence, the music is rock-centered, though there's a lot of different stylistic and genre inclusions that keep it interesting and very catchy choruses that make it palatable and relatable to a broader audience. Everyone sings or does shout-outs at least a bit.
Rehearsals are on Tuesday evenings at 7:30pm in Snellville just north of Stone Mountain, which we'd like to keep for the immediate future, and we get together at different/odd times to handle recording. We have a full studio with rehearsal space that we practice in, and we are able to quickly and easily record the tunes. Goals are to have somebody fully onboarded, working on new stuff, get up to playing out a couple times a month, and build up some traction online in order to get better gigs.
If you can also play some guitar/keys/percussion/etc., then that is wonderful, because we like to change things up! Looking for someone who really wants a long-term community of musicians who are kind, have their shit together, and have fun while working hard to make great art. This is 100% NOT a cover band, just to be clear.
Music references range from the alt/grunge era, to southern gothic, rocky Americana, jazzy-blues, and has a hint of Latin flavor that sneaks in here and there. There's opportunity for a lot of tasty options!
