Hi all! I'm Adam, a graduate from Columbia University, offering tutoring for advanced mathematics and computer science.
I've been a tutor for over ten years, and I maintain a five-star rating on my WyzAnt profile.
If you buy a package of 20 hours, then my rate during the summer is just $40 per hour! The "a la carte" rate is $80 per hour. This offer is valid for meetings online or in-person at the Sharon Forks Library, or within a 10-minute drive of there. For any other location, I charge $40 per hour for travel time (there and back).
I specialize in real analysis, measure theory, abstract algebra, probability, discrete math, and symbolic and mathematical logic.
I can also teach most other topics in undergraduate mathematics, including differential, integral, and multivariable calculus; linear algebra; differential equations; mathematical statistics; statistical inference; topology; complex analysis; combinatorics.
I also teach many of the "mathy" topics in computer science, including programming in any of the languages, Python, Java, Haskell, OCaml, C, with a little familiarity with Ruby, Scheme, and Rust; algorithms and data structures; automata; theory of computation; systems programming; design of languages and abstraction.
I also teach introductory physics, such as the content of a first-year university course. This includes mechanics, electricity, and magnetism.
I teach introductory chemistry.
I can also prepare a student for the AP (Advanced Placement) courses in calculus AB and BC; computer science principles and A; physics 1, 2, 3, C: Mechanics, and C: Electricity and Magnetism; and general chemistry.
