Tom Murphy worked his magic on this beauty in the year 2018
Stripped, Custom Painted then Aged. Looks better then the day it left Gibson in 1956
I have the letter Tom sent to my friend Chris after he completed it
Then Chris sold it to me in 2019
Then I sold it few weeks later to a local friend and just acquired it back
Gibson's Golden Years: Honduran Mahogany neck and body with a Brazilian board
Short term listing
Bridge Bushings: Relocated ages ago to allow better intonation (so 2 plugged holes)
Interesting Note! One of the relocated post bushing (pressed into the body) drops straight down thru the center of the wiring harness cavity blocking it off. So the original harness cavity was moved over slightly to bypass this steel bushing. The 2 tunnels run (side by side) then join up right before the control cavity opening. My friend that works at Gibson discovered this Friday night while installing a fresh Gibson wiring harness for this guitar. He's a super talent at Gibson for last 30 years.Working in almost every dept.
Murf plugged Hole:
Location In the center of 4 knobs
Near impossible to see
Some kid likely installed a switch there back in the day
Local pickup welcome though I may can deliver up to 400 miles each way
Please contact me with any/all questions, I'm happy to assist in any way
