This is a Pre. 1830's Blacksmith Anvil. This anvil was a 170 lb. anvil at one time. but it has lost it's horn. As was the rule for Sherman when he came through this area during the civil war was to locate the blacksmith shops & brake the horns off of the anvils where they couldn't shoe the horses. Since this one dates pre 1830's it is a very good possibility that is what happened to this one. The weight marking on the side is 1-2-4 would be 172 lbs. but without the horn it weighs about 140 lbs. The name isn't real clear but looks like Wilkinson. The working area is 13X 5 in. So if you could use a good piece of history or just something to beat on , The first $ 300.00 gets it. That is close to $ 2.00 a pound. Anvils haven't been that cheep in quite a few years. Please CALL After 9:00 AM or Before 8:00 PM. Don't Text Or Email You will just be wasting your time. If this listing is still up, Then it is still for sale.
