The body material was different depending on the market in which the bass was sold. For the US market it was consistently built of maple which is listed either as light American maple or soft maple depending on the source. For Europe the wood species underwent several changes, from alder to basswood to maple. The bridge was changed over the course of production from a standard die-cast 5-string bridge to an EB7-5 bridge to an Accu-cast B25. For 2004 the preamp was changed to an EQB-IIIB with a 2-band EQ and a "Style Sweeper Finger Slap" control.
