Sadly it's time for me to let my late 1923/early 1924 Gibson A-1 go. It's in amazingly good condition for being over 100 years old. All original except I was told the bridge is not. Original frets are in good shape and has the original pick guard that will be included. Has a period correct case in very good condition that I hunted down, just wasn't original to this mandolin. Does appear that there was a back seam separation at one point as evidenced by two cleats that can be seen through the sound hole.
I'm asking $3,500 or best offer. I'll gladly consider partial trades, but any trade scenario will need to include at least $1,500 in cash. For trades I'm looking for:
- High end F-5 case, ideally a Pegasus, but open to Calton/Hoffee
- Players grade snakehead A Jr
- Maybe a modern builder oval hole
- Small body guitar. Pre 1966 Gibson LG-1 would be cool, but open to modern guitars too.
