New gardener looking for Compost (free if possible) 1

I'm a beginner gardener (third season this spring) trying to find some good compost for my garden. I'm on a very tight budget so if possible it would be amazing to find some free, unwanted compost, though I can pay a little. I have five raised beds with some decent soil and really just need to top off a few inches on top to really help out the plants in a few months. I can come get it as well; I don't have a pickup truck but if I put a tarp in the back of my 97 RAV4 it does a decent job of pretending to be a truck! Thanks for your time, happy gardening to any of the other green (or brown) thumbs out there!
